Chardonnay from Sonoma Valley in Caifornia
This wine is lovely! One of our favorites. It's got a nice fruity flavor (lemon, peach, apple, and subtle orange) and it's a little oaky and buttery at the same time. It just smells like late summer - very floral. It's smooth and well balanced. It leaves your mouth with a wonderful feeling - nothing gritty or too dry and acidic. It's great for the transition from summer to fall.
Since this wine isn't really strong in any one particular flavor - there's a ton of food you can pair it with. If you're looking for a cheese to go with it - think creamy and buttery - like brie, saint andre and cambezola (for the blue cheese lovers). If you're looking for something to have with dinner, this would go well with our Tuna and Potato Salad or Grilled Chicken with Spinach Pesto from our What's for Dinner column. In general you could easily pair this with substantial seafood like shrimp, scallops, and
