Cab from Sonoma County, California
Kunde has been a favorite winery for years now. It was one of the first that I ever visited and is still a very fond memory for me. This wine is young wine is huge for it's age. It's bold and hits you with dark berries (think blackberries, cherries and currants) and a bit of chocolate at the end. All of these fresh and vibrant flavors are blended with some oakiness and spice.
Typical pairings for a Cab are grilled steaks and prime rib. I'm not a fan of prime rib, so I'm using this as an excuse to fire up the grill. A nice medium/medium-rare flame broiled rib eye steak with some amazing carmelization on the outside and a bit of blue cheese on top would be prety close to perfect. Of course you could also offer some pasta with a Bolognese sauce - I think that would be quite nice as well.
