Recently we had visitors in town and wanted to do something a little special for Brunch. Grill 225, downtown, has a very nice Champagne Brunch on Sunday. We arrived at 11:00am as they were just beginning their service. I had made reservations the evening before online at the restaurant s website www.grill225.com. We were seated promptly and were greeted by our server immediately. Our included flute of Champagne was poured, and a full description of the various offerings of the day were explained by our server. We were on our way to a very nice brunch experience.
The buffet included many choices that should appeal to any group. I particularly liked the Creamy stone Ground Shrimp and Grits cups, the Crème Brulee Infused French Toast, and the myriad of seafood selections available including oysters. There were a variety of excellent prepared seafood items, crab cakes, baked and fried fish, shrimp and a seafood salad. The buffet also included an Omelet Station, Salad Station, Cheese and Fruit Display, Carving Stations and assorted home baked goods. Check out the full menu at www.marketpavilion.com/sundaybuffet.pdf. All of the servers were knowledgeable of what they were serving and answered questions competently. When we asked where the oysters were from, the staff investigated and returned quickly with the answer.
The atmosphere at Grill 225 is upscale and quiet. Service was quite cook without appearing to rush your dining experience. We were there two hours. Parking downtown on a Sunday is fairly easy if you are on the earlier side, but the Cumberland Street garage isn’t far from the restaurant.
