There is a lot going on this week and weekend, tis the time of the year for what seems like weekly endless oyster roasts in the lowcountry so if you like the slippery little suckers (as I do) you are in luck for the next several months. There isn't really a lot going on this week and coming weekend, but enough to pick out a few things of interest. Most of the local Halloween events were held this past weekend, but some venues will still have a costume party /event on Wednesday – so check your local favorite watering hole. The Coastal Carolina Fair started this past Thursday and will run through this weekend, check out their web page for the specifics of each night, as there are several performers schedule each night.

I grew up in Michigan (yes, I know another yankee) - but give me some credit as I've lived in Charleston now for 16 years. I came here on vacation to visit a friend and decided to stay - best decision ever, as I discover new things I like about this area all the time. I am a big sports fan, love the water (good thing living here, huh?) and hanging out with my friends/family. When I first moved here, I couldn't believe all of the different events that take place every weekend throughout the entire year, all over the Lowcountry. I mean, a festive just to celebrate Grits - how great is that, only in the South! Every year seems to bring more events/festivals and things to do - so I thought what better thing to do than to note some of the local events/happenings that are going on each week.
