Walnut Bread - FAIL!

Have I mentioned that I am ABSOLUTE SHIT when it comes to making anything that involves yeast?

Really, I am. I have tried countless times to make the simplest of loaves and they all failed miserably. I've even had several friends buy me books specifically on making bread in hopes that I might one day master the art of baking the perfect french baguette.

No such luck. I still suck.

Pear & Walnut Baked Oatmeal

This week it got cooler around here. And by "cooler" I mean in the 70's.

For Charleston, that IS as good as fall gets. Mind you it was only in the 70's for three days. Today it's back up in the 80's. October 1st is when I refuse to wear shorts or sundresses on principal. I just can't justify romping around in summer gear after the first day of October. It just doesn't seem right.

Feet

So I'm done with my feet fotos for the moment. You can take a look at some of the good ones here.

Like I said, I'm not a big foot person, but I guess mine aren't all that bad. It's funny how when you actually look closely at something your opinion can change.

As much as I like to think that I am resolute in my well-formed opinions in life, they really need to be re-evaluated when new information comes to the surface.

Unravelling

Today I started an eight week journey into myself.

Yep...I said it. AND it's not a court mandated round of therapy or anything even like that.

It's called "Unravelling" and according to the sales pitch it is designed to "take you on a photo safari into your own life to reconnect with who you are, where you’ve been and where you want to go next."

It sounded kind of cool to me. I also came across the course at the same time I needed a little bit of healing and directional help.

Leftovers: Butternut Squash Soup

This is a great idea for your leftovers. I LOVE butternut squash in all applications, and I make a mean Cassoulet with it when it's cooler out.

Cooking a whole squash for two people is a bit like getting an Easter ham for said two people: AN ETERNITY. It just seems to be way to much for any two people. Needless to say I had a bunch leftover after we enjoyed the balsamic glazed nuggets with our roasted chicken.
